Meet Sabrina Keys!
My name is Sabrina Keys. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and currently reside in South Carolina. I am an eight-year United States Air Force Veteran, Civil Servant, Business Owner, Realtor®, Educator, and married mother of two. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Information Systems and a Master of Business Administration degree. I am truly honored to be a Shazzy Fitness Instructor.
As it states in James 2:26 (NIV), “As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead”. Service is how we fulfill our deeds. I believe we all were strategically placed on this earth to serve an ordained purpose, and I am always looking for ways to honor God with my service. Everyone needs to be uplifted and motivated. People are always looking for fellowship, inspiration, and community. By conducting Shazzy Fitness classes to both adults and children, I believe I can change lives by inspiring healthy life choices by stressing the importance of exercise.
Becoming a Fitness Instructor was always a dream of mine, but the timing just never seemed to be right. Sticking to a consistent workout schedule doing exercise activity that did not feel like a monotonous workout routine was another issue. During the quarantine, I attended online dance workout classes twice a week, and consulted Amazon Prime workout videos for the other days. During my Amazon Prime search, I came across the Shazzy Fitness videos and decided to try them. I was immediately impressed by the routines, and the family-friendly, uplifting music.
Diabetes, heart disease, high cholesterol, and hypertension run in my family. At the age of 22, I was placed on statins to lower my cholesterol because my bad cholesterol levels were so high. I made a commitment to change my lifestyle by exercising more, and making healthy food choices, so I would no longer be dependent on medication to keep my cholesterol levels under control. Once I saw the positive changes that resulted, I was inspired to teach fitness. I began researching various fitness certifications, but never followed through with them until now.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 says “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven”, and I truly believe this is all happening in God’s timing.
I have dedicated my life to service and education. I believe the values and principles Shazzy Fitness represents align to my personal pledge to always keep these at the forefront of what I do both personally and professionally. I believe strongly in the African humanist philosophy of Ubuntu, which means I am who I am because of who we all are. We learn to be human through our interactions with other humans. I believe that by surrounding oneself with a community of like-minded individuals who are dedicated to service, health, wellness, and fitness, one begins to mimic and promote these same traits and characteristics. It is my goal to educate and inspire people to make their health and wellness a priority.
