Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul. 3 John 1:2
Two out of every three American adults are either overweight or obese. And one in every ten kids under the age of 5 is obese. These startling statements are common headlines in the news today. Eating highly processed food, making poor food choices, not moving enough are the usual factors that play a role in obesity. So we as a family, as a nation are fat and we need to get fit.
Family Health & Fitness Day can be a start to a whole new life for us.
September 27th marks the 18th annual Family Health & Fitness Day.
This day is the nation's largest family event where thousands of families across the country participate.
The primary goal of this day is to get families involved in fitness related activities, encouraging them to exercise to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
FHFD also gives families an opportunity to try out the various fitness programs offered by the local community.
Hospitals, health clubs, YMCAs, state & county health departments, park districts, houses of worship, and schools that are taking part in FHFD will host events throughout the day. The programs will include exercise demonstrations, health fairs, family walks and more.
