This week's Devotional - Purify us Lord.
Purify our minds. Spur us to read Your Word so that we can know who You are and who we are in You. Let us learn to avoid filling our minds with things that bombard us with unhealthy, senseless and useless distractions.
Purify our hearts to love You as You deserve. Show us how to love others even those who may be hard to love. These are the two commands required of Your children. Remind us that because of Your great love, You sacrificially sent Your beloved Son to die on the cross for our sins, even for the worst of sinners. Let us therefore love because You first loved us.
Purify our bodies, let us learn to rid ourselves not only of toxins and contamination from unhealthy eating and unhealthy living but also to avoid the viruses of unhealthy relationships. Our bodies are the Temple of Your Spirit so let us remember to exercise our bodies and avoid a sedentary life that keeps us from serving God and serving others.
Purify our lips Dear Lord, so that our words are acceptable to You. Put a guard over our lips so we speak only what encourages, edifies and educates our brothers and sisters. Let us with gratitude and praise worship You and always be ready to share about Your goodness, mercy and grace.
Purify our walk. Keep us on the paths of righteousness. Give us boldness to stay the course, trusting in You to order our steps. Let us be a Light that shines for You wherever we may go. We will walk in victory because we know the battle is already won!
In Jesus Name We Pray. Amen.
God has a purpose for everything in our lives. With Him nothing is wasted. There is value in every person and He has ordained something for each of us to do. Every incident, circumstance or occurrence has some purpose for growing us, showing us and drawing us closer to Him. Pray for wisdom and discernment search the Word for understanding then determine you will commit and submit to His plans for your good and His glory.
