Friday, March 8, 2019 is International Women’s Day—
A day where we celebrate ourselves, one another, and continue to uplift each other as we all evolve on our journey through life. It’s a day to bask in the ultimate beauty that is a woman individually and for those around us. It’s a day to reflect on all you’ve accomplished as a woman, whether the milestones are huge or small in scope, while continually moving forward to encourage all women.
I often think of a bible verse from Proverbs that really encourages me day to day as a young woman of faith:
“Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come.”
This bible verse is beautiful and reminds us that God has armed us with the strength to get through any situation, the dignity to be confident in who He has called us to be, and the sense of humor and faith to go after our dreams and passions.
It can be challenging as women sometimes, when the odds seem against us or things appear unfair. I get it and I’ve felt the weight of the world on my shoulders on more than one occasion. But I’m reminded, and I want to remind you that you are equipped with everything you need to be successful and live your life to the fullest. When God created you in His image, He made no mistakes and created you to contribute something special and unique that only you can.
As we celebrate women everywhere today, I hope that you will continue to celebrate yourself and the women around you every day. International Women’s Day is so important because it’s a reminder that together we are stronger, more powerful, more resilient, and that there is still work to be done.
Women are the epitome of go-getters, change makers, and movers. I say this in the humblest way, we are genuinely a gift and helpmate for the world we live in.
I want to leave you with these—
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
“God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved.”
Remember, no matter— wherever you go in life or whatever you face, God is there with you. And whenever you feel discouraged, He’s there fighting for you to be who He’s called you to be. As women, there’s nothing that we can’t do. We can do and be everything we believe we can. This, I’m sure of. You were made for such a time as this.
As a young woman of faith, today and every day, I salute and celebrate every single one of you. May God continue to bless and keep you on your journey.
