Mothers live beyond their feelings. They often can't afford the luxury of admitting how tired they are, that they aren't feeling well, or their feelings have been hurt – no time for that! When needed, they simply step into their calling as Mothers and serve. Whatever, whenever and however they are needed. When children need help with homework; when called to leave work to pick up a sick child at school; when at 8pm a child shows you their favorite shirt has a stain and they just have to wear that shirt to school tomorrow; when you've had an exceptionally busy day and all you want to do is feed your family and put them to bed so you can have a moment to yourself, but your child remembers and says, "Mama, I forgot – I told the teacher you would bring three dozen cupcakes to school in the morning for the Bake Sale!" Yikes...
Mothers learn to be selfless, sacrificial and sympathetic because God added supporter, encourager, cuddler, empathizer, motivator, and comforter to their resumes. He poured supernatural energy into Mothers, that allows them to operate and function on "fumes" of energy for our loved ones.
God gave Mothers intuition and instinct to find truth even behind the sweetest faces. Superheroes may have their powers in the movies, but Mothers have hypersensitive ears to hear their babies moans/crying while in a crowd – that's love!
I've heard it said that a Godly Mother is God's best tangible reflection of Himself in our fallen world that is thirsty for real love. A world that is in a famine of seeing kindness, feeling tenderness and seeking first the good in others. Thank God for Mothers who have learned to live beyond their feelings but who instead live by faith. They put their trust in our Creator God who knows our every concern and care. These amazing women have learned to look above their feelings for wisdom, strength and pull from within themselves the power and courage to persevere. Godly women know they can not exist and properly nurture their families without the Holy Spirit's power. They believe wholeheartedly that no matter what, God will supply all they need for their families. These are women who make time to get on their knees, often long into the wee hours of the night to petition and intercede for their families.
Godly Mothers will search God's Word constantly for answers, knowing that "all things are possible to those who believe." Praise God this day and everyday for a Mother's caring heart, listening ear, gentle encouragement, open arms and eyes to see with love. A Mother's love is the closest, sweetest touch we will ever enjoy this side of Glory!
