In 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, Paul writes that as believers, we should “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. In the best of times and worst of times, there are a few constants that we can be thankful for in any situation. We have been saved by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and have been promised eternal life with our Father in heaven. The Lord assures us that He is always with us, always in control, and always has our best interest in His heart.
Say Something Nice Day is celebrated on June 1st and started out as a movement in South Carolina, at the First Baptist Church of Charleston, the oldest Baptist congregation in the South. One of the goals of this day is to express our love and gratitude to those we cherish in our lives. This day also came about to combat the negative consequences of hateful speech by spreading kindness.
