I am a runner.  It has taken me a long time to admit that.  I'm not sure what I thought made you a runner but I was certain it was not me.  I kinda plod along making very slow progress towards the finish line when I run. I am not thin like some other runners - I'm either right at the top of normal weight or the bottom of overweight depending on my diet.  Despite my passion for the road and my dedication to the sport, I just didn't see myself as a runner.

World Diabetes Day

382 million. That's the number of people living with diabetes worldwide today. And by the year 2035, 592 million people will have this disease. Diabetes is a chronic condition where the body does not metabolize sugar properly. As a result, sugar which is our main energy source, remains in the blood causing other complications like kidney disease, nerve damages, and heart diseases. However, most cases of diabetes and the complications that arise from this disease can be avoided through healthy lifestyles.

Kindness. It is defined as a quality or state of mind where one is warm, charitable or caring towards another. And today the 13th of November is recognized as World Kindness Day. It is a day where people get to demonstrate acts of kindness to each other. A day where we all have the power to make a difference in someone else's life.
